Your first visit to a yoga therapist

What happens at your first yoga therapy consultation?

Your first visit will focus on your own condition, your state of health and wellbeing, and what you would like to achieve, realistically, from yoga therapy.

Initially, during a complimentary appointment of 30 mins to an hour, we discuss your individual aims, physical condition, energy levels, unique life circumstances and explore if yoga therapy might help you. This will allow me to design a first practice, tailored to your needs.

In the following session, I will guide you through a personal routine which focuses on managing or improving your particular symptoms. This will include a sequence of mindful movements, integrated with specific breath techniques, among other yoga tools.

I will teach you each pose (with modifications if needed), then you can do it yourself with feedback. The  sequence will then be clearly drawn for you so that you can do it comfortably at home.

Some of the benefits of a regular practice can be a more relaxed body, more spacious breathing, a calmer mind with less agitation and heaviness.

‘Yoga is ultimately a process of self-realisation. Self-realisation is becoming aware of who we are, rather than who we ‘think’ we are.’
