Classes
Am I really here or gone elsewhere, preoccupied with the past or the future so that the present escapes me? That is the challenge of yoga practice, the challenge of life – Peter Hersnack
Weekly yoga classes
Next series of five classes will be on Tuesday February 21st until March 21st at 6pm 7.15pm at St Patricks recreation hall, Greystones
There is also an online yoga class on Monday mornings at 9.30am for the same period. This class is generally for people over 60.
A weekly yoga class is a great way to either begin or deepen your yoga process. You can experience and learn about yoga in a weekly class, taking time and space for yourself and practising with others. Some benefits can be: a weekly reminder of what it’s like to have a more relaxed body, breathing which is more spacious, and a mind that feels more open, with less agitation and/or dullness.
These classes are taught according to the tradition of TKV Desikachar and Krishnamacharya (father and son) using the tools of yoga, breath-focused mindful asana, seated breathing, visualisation, meditation and ayurvedic principles.
A theme from the yoga sutras is often chosen as a backdrop for the class. Mindful movements integrated with breathing techniques are used to explore these themes.
The next series of five classes are
• Tuesday 7.15pm to 8.30pm on 21st February until 21st March
• Monday 9.30am to 10.45 am, 20th February until 20th March (online only)
These series aim to help reconnect to our innate sense of space, resilience and energy, using breath centric physical asana and Yoga Nidra meditation.
If you have any questions about these classes please get in touch with e mail [email protected] and I usually get back the following day.
I also offer yoga therapy and retreat days.
