On Saturday 4th October from 10am to 1pm in the Luisne centre in Bray
This three hour workshop would be ideal for those who have been practicing yoga asana for a few months and would like to deepen their pracice.
In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the practice of pranayama, extending the life force, is listed after asana.
As with asana, the practice of pranayama is ideally done in safe developmental stages.
So the morning will consist of short asana sections to support the learning of two foundational pranayama practices. One of the practices will focus on becoming more familiar with the mechanics of breath, using hand mudras and mantra.
The other one will attend to the breath itself in terms of the relationship between the inhale, exhale and the pauses. The aim of both practices is to provide a stable and strong foundation on which to gradually develop a safe and consistent pranayama practice.
